Song Playing:
"It is Well With My Soul"

The Privilege of Knowing Her

From a tribute
by Reverend Don F. Miller

"...Naomi realized the importance of expressing our thoughts, feelings and inspiration through writing and speaking. She was skilled in the use of the english language for this purpose- through poetry and prose. As a member of the Oklahoma Writer's Federation she was awarded a beautiful "Honorary Life Membership" plaque on May 5, 1990.
     It reads:
'Naomi Taylor Casey- 'You make our pens sing and our hearts smile.'

One of her poems, entitled "Passport", was included in the Poetry Society of Oklahoma Diamond Jublilee Anthology in 1982."
"When each of us was born, we began writing our own life's story. Each new day we turn a new page, as it were: a clean, fresh page on which we write the day's record. Naomi wrote words- many words- but she wrote her life's record in God's Book of Life, and my guess is that He has given her an A+ ! "
" So today we give God thanks for giving Naomi the gift of life- and for the privilege of knowing her, loving her, and walking with her along life's path. Her influence will live on in our lives, even as her soul abides with God. We are sad that she has left us, but rejoice that God gave her to us. The world is a better place because she lived! "

"A cute young lass, both sweet and good
They called her 'Sugar' and later 'Sug',
With smiling face Naomi would
Help and assist you if she could
An eager student, she was bright
And skilled with words
She liked to write
Religious works- invoking right
And poems, inspired and erudite
Now if you take a closer look
At all her life, in every nook-
Painstaking care Naomi took
To write her life in God's Great Book
Quite unassuming, like a dove
With family, friends she shared her love;
Gentle, kind, reminiscent of
The love of Christ, of God above.
Farewell dear Mother, wife and friend,
Although your earthly life did end
We thank our God that he did send
You down our way, our lives to tend.
We thank our God who will unroll
The written record in your life's scroll
"Well done, my daughter," God will extol,
"Come home to me, I take your soul."
"Come home to me, my faithful one,
The race of life you ran and won.
The night is o'er, your work is done,
Naomi, hail the rising sun!"
